Kavak Oficinas

Kavak is a used-car company founded in Mexico and a leader in the Latin American market. Argentina was this unicorn's first step in taking the brand regional. Its identity therefore came from the parent company, but consisted mainly of graphic and branding work.

Our project starts from the programmatic reading and functional organisation used in Mexico, proposes the palette of materials, and with all of it composes a balance that carries the brand's values into architecture. That meant developing a tectonic identity tied to the graphic identity created at Kavak Mexico.

So we researched materials that define the brand, proposing finishes such as straight corrugated sheet, brick tiles, exposed concrete, and fabrics and folders designed by our team. The furniture and lighting are also leading elements of this new identity.

We explored and developed diagonals as an expression tied to the brand book, using them to resolve the facade, the layout of the lighting, and the metal dividers and planting that delimit the open space and organise it.

The offices sit in the former Philips factory in Argentina and have a distinctive industrial character, which paired perfectly with the tectonic aesthetic we developed in the materials for Kavak. The space covers 800 m², laid out mainly through the repetition of boxes at its centre that divide the open-plan areas strategically to avoid the "one big space" effect. These characteristic boxes are clad in white sheet on the outside and work as islands, housing phone booths, informal meeting rooms, lockers and seating.

The space is broadly divided into two open-plan areas, for tech and for dining. At the far end of the offices are the call centre and two large meeting rooms. A tiered seating area with furniture was designed specifically for informal use.
