Roket

The project involves the complete renovation of the Roket nightclub in San Carlos de Bariloche. It was a major undertaking because of both its scale and the construction complexity of its five levels, balconies and stepped seating.

This new version of the nightclub addresses the aesthetic and technological challenges of its time. Both are expressed through a shared approach in which lighting becomes technology and defines the club's visual identity.

The project is inspired by light and its speed as a dominant element. Through speed, humanity discovered new horizons beyond what had been imagined: outer space. The propulsion technology of spacecraft seems to tell the story of what happens in space, where rings of light and gases envelop entire planets.

Roket speaks through a futuristic industrial language, expressed in its forms and materials. Perforated sheet metal, stainless-steel panels, rubber floors and walls, polycarbonate sheets and metal ribs all evoke the interiors of spacecraft. Stone elements appear in specific details like rocks from outer space and are used mainly to shape the furniture in the VIP areas.

Oval and circular pieces are repeated throughout the nightclub, representing speed through moving pixel-LED lighting that follows the beats of the music. The more static RGB LED lighting within the ribs creates different lighting scenarios depending on the occasion.

Roket includes immersive spaces defined by scenographic ovals made of metal and light, some of which can be entered while others can only be observed. Lighting, reflected light and sound play an essential role in contemporary entertainment spaces. Through its renewed identity, Roket therefore proposes a new way of understanding the nightclub.
