Lucciano’s Caballito

From the outset, the brand sought to move away from the preconceptions of a traditional ice cream shop and align itself with aesthetic qualities that are unconventional for this type of programme. As designers, we chose to bring the product and the brand closer to art from several perspectives. Through the selection of materials, lighting, furniture and certain almost sculptural devices, we gave the ice cream shop qualities that evoke the comfort of a domestic living room and the atmosphere of an art gallery.

Through the development of different construction elements - the bush-hammered treatment of the columns, exaggerating the qualities of the concrete; the vertical rhythm of the black timber slats; and, above all, the work on the iron and glass cladding and balustrade - the design consistently seeks to enhance the spatial qualities of the premises, focusing on its double-height volume.

The balance between old and contemporary, monochrome and colourful, smooth and textured elements creates an engaging aesthetic eclecticism that always gives centre stage to the product being sold: ice cream.
